Smartwiches aims to develop next-generation multifunctional 3DP sandwich composite meta structures.
The project integrates Additive Manufacturing & Nanotechnology to create lightweight, Energy-autonomous structural systems through the realization of the following scientific objectives (SO):
SO1. Develop recyclable microscale reinforced thermoplastic filament towards Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) lattice architectures through advanced 3D printing approaches to minimize stress concentrations and enable tailorable thermomechanical features for high-performance engineering applications.
SO2. Design and fabricate 3D-printed thermoplastic TPMS microporous scaffolds capable of promoting controlled conductive segregated network formation with tunable electrical properties at low nanofiller loadings through enhanced interfacial surface area.
SO3. Develop multifunctional recyclable thermoplastic sandwich panels with fully integrated self-powered sensing arrays using additive manufacturing technologies for smart engineering applications.
